West Java Police to Issue Wanted List for Suspect in Three-Year Confinement of Woman in Bandung
The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) will soon issue a wanted list (DPO) for a man with the initials TH, suspected of confining and abusing his 29-year-old girlfriend, identified as YTR, in Bandung Regency, West Java, for nearly three years.
Head of Public Relations for West Java Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated on Tuesday that investigators are currently in the process of formally naming the individual as a suspect before issuing the DPO. “We will first establish suspect status, then issue the DPO,” Hendra said in Bandung.
Hendra confirmed that a joint team has been formed to pursue the alleged perpetrator, who remains at large. “The perpetrator has not yet been arrested. We have just formed this joint team,” he added.
According to Hendra, medical examination results show the victim sustained severe injuries affecting her physical condition. “It is certain that, based on the post-mortem report, both eyes have suffered blindness. That is the most severe injury. Six upper front teeth were knocked out and her lip is cleft,” Hendra revealed.
The case came to light after the victim’s family received a WhatsApp message from an unknown person, informing them that the victim was at the Emergency Department of Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung. “After that, the family went to the hospital and discovered that the victim had severe injuries to her head, face, and legs, as well as minor injuries to her hands,” he explained.
Hendra disclosed that prior to being found at the hospital, the victim’s whereabouts had been unknown to her family for approximately three years. “Before this, the victim had disappeared without any news, and her location was unknown for about three years,” he said.
