West Java Police Tighten Security for Persib vs Persijap Final at GBLA
Before the final BRi Super League match between Persib Bandung and Persijap Jepara, West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat) has finalised an intensified security plan. The crucial match is scheduled to take place at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at 16:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Polda Jabar Operations Head, Senior Commissioner Laode Aries, said security preparations have been polished through cross-sector coordination. In the meeting, security will be implemented with a four-zone security ring around the GBLA, covering tight surveillance from outside the stadium to the entrance to the spectator stands. In addition, thorough screening will be carried out to ensure fans comply with regulations. He stressed that bringing dangerous objects into the stadium is prohibited. “Spectators are prohibited from bringing dangerous objects such as flares, fireworks, or items that can be hurled into the stadium. In addition, drinks in plastic bottles and cans are not allowed to enter the stands,” he said. To deter violations, Polda Jabar together with the event organising committee (panpel) and supporter representatives have established strict sanctions. “We have agreed with the organisers and the Bobotoh that if dangerous items such as flares or items that can be thrown are found, decisive action will be taken, including withdrawal of the right to watch the match,” he said. For safety, police will limit the number of spectators to a maximum of 32,000, or 75% of the stadium’s total capacity. Laode urged supporters without official tickets not to come to the stadium area. As an alternative so fans can still support their team safely, authorities have prepared ‘nobar’ viewing locations: “The regional government together with local authorities have facilitated nobar points spread across a number of village offices and nearby police stations,” he added.
