The West Java Regional Police has announced the postponement of the Operasi Patuh Lodaya enforcement operation, which was to be held for two weeks from 8 to 21 June. The delay was made in consideration of the current situation in the West Java region. The news was shared by the West Java Police Traffic Directorate via the rtmcpoldajabar Instagram account. The operation is postponed until an unspecified time. “This postponement is valid until a time limit to be determined later,” citing a statement from rtmcpoldajabar on Monday (8/6/2026). Although the raids are delayed, the West Java Police urged the public to observe orderly traffic conduct and always carry vehicle documents. Previously, West Java Police Traffic Director Senior Commissioner Raydian Kokrosono stated that the 14-day Operasi Patuh Lodaya would prioritise persuasive and humane measures. Enforcement against violators would use 60 percent electronic traffic law enforcement, 30 percent non-electronic ticketing, and 10 percent warnings. “The aim of Operasi Patuh Lodaya is to reduce the number of accidents, traffic violations, and prevent fatalities,” he said on Sunday (7/6/2026). He stated that electronic enforcement targets car drivers not wearing seatbelts, using mobile phones, violating road markings or traffic signs, running red lights, speeding, driving against the flow of traffic, and not wearing helmets. Additionally, carrying more passengers than permitted, not using plates according to regulations, improper parking, and breaking through express lanes will be penalised. Non-electronic enforcement covers driving against the flow, vehicles with non-compliant registration numbers, vehicles not matching specifications, and using brong exhausts. “The enforcement provides a deterrent effect, upholds discipline and the law on the roads, and reduces the number of traffic violations,” he said. He mentioned that the police are optimising law enforcement during Operasi Patuh Lodaya using electronic traffic law enforcement systems, which make law enforcement more transparent, accountable, and objective. “It minimises direct contact between officers and the public,” he said.
