West Java Police Open Call Centre for Other Potential Victims of Taufik Hidayat
Taufik Hidayat (30), who confined and committed acts of violence against a woman identified as YTR (29), has been detained. West Java Regional Police are now providing a call centre for anyone who may have been a victim of violence by Taufik. This follows reports circulating on social media that Taufik’s violent acts were not only against YTR, but that there are allegedly other victims. Head of Public Relations for West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated that if any party feels they have been a victim of Taufik, they can report it to the call centre. “Regarding the social media posts we have received, where individuals claim to be victims, we are implementing this public information disclosure. Please report to us at our call centre at the Directorate of Women and Children Protection at West Java Regional Police,” Hendra said. Hendra also mentioned that reports can be made through the 110 call centre. His team is also conducting intensive monitoring on social media. “Or via 110. We have opened the call centre, and we are currently monitoring social media,” he stated. According to Hendra, his team has not yet found new facts or received direct reports regarding the alleged existence of other victims in this case. “However, factually, no report has reached our desk yet,” he added.
