West Java Police Hold Reconstruction in Alleged Confinement Case Involving Taufik Hidayat

The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) held a reconstruction of an alleged confinement and aggravated assault case at the Directorate of Women and Children Protection building in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday (2/7/2026). The reconstruction involved suspect Taufik Hidayat and the victim, identified by the initials YTR. Investigators conducted the reconstruction behind closed doors because the case is suspected to contain scenes of sexual violence. This measure was taken to protect the investigation process while safeguarding the victim’s privacy and rights. The reconstruction forms part of the evidentiary process in the investigation, aimed at matching the statements of the parties involved with the sequence of events under investigation. The results will serve as material for investigators to complete the case file before it is transferred to the next stage.
