West Java Police Form Joint Team to Hunt Attacker Who Blinded Woman

The West Java Regional Police have formed a joint team to capture the perpetrator, identified as TH, following the assault on Yuvita Tri Rezeki (29), which resulted in the victim losing her sight. The authorities are still actively pursuing the suspect.

“The perpetrator has not yet been arrested. We have just formed this joint team,” stated the Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, to journalists on Monday (22/06/202<0xC2>6).

He continued that the victim has not yet been interrogated as she is currently unable to communicate clearly and remains under intensive care. The police intend to collaborate with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to ensure the victim’s testimony is not exploited for purposes other than the police investigation.

The victim suffered blindness in both eyes, a cleft lip, and the loss of six upper teeth. Authorities suspect the victim was struck with a sharp object.

“What is certain is that the medical examination (visum) confirms both eyes have become blind. That is the most severe injury, along with the loss of six front upper teeth and a cleft lip,” he said.

The police will proceed to Hasan Sadinah Hospital in Bandung immediately. They are also preparing to officially designate the perpetrator as a suspect and issue a wanted list (DPO).

“First, the designation of the suspect, followed by the issuance of the DPO. We will make an announcement at RSHS tomorrow after the Zuhr prayer,” he added.
