West Java Police Form Joint Team to Hunt Attacker Who Blinded Woman
West Java Regional Police have formed a joint team to apprehend TH, the perpetrator of an assault against Yuvita Tri Rezeki (29) that resulted in blindness. The suspect remains at large. “The perpetrator has not been arrested yet. We have just formed this joint team,” said West Java Police Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, to reporters on Monday (22/6/2026). He added that the victim has not yet been questioned as she is still unable to communicate clearly and remains in intensive care. The police are coordinating with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency to ensure the victim’s statements are not exploited for purposes other than the investigation. He further stated that both of the victim’s eyes are blind, her lip is split, and six upper teeth were knocked out. Police suspect the victim was struck with a sharp object. “What is certain, according to the post-mortem report, is that both eyes are blind. That is the most severe injury, along with six missing upper front teeth. The lip is split,” he said. The police will soon visit Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung. They will also immediately name the perpetrator a suspect and issue a wanted list. “First, we will name him a suspect, then issue a wanted list. We will announce it tomorrow at the hospital after midday prayers,” he said.
