West Java Police Deploy 2,000 Personnel to Secure Persib vs Persijap Match at GBLA
West Java Police (Polda Jabar) deployed around 2,000 personnel to secure the final of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 between Persib Bandung and Persijap Jepara at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium in Bandung on Saturday, 23 May 2026. The West Java Police’s Operations Chief, Kombes Pol La Ode Aries, said the deployment aims to anticipate post-match euphoria and keep policing focused on crowded spots in Bandung.
Polda Jabar will implement a four-ring security pattern, spanning from the stadium’s exterior area to the spectators’ entrance gates. Strict screening will be conducted to ensure no prohibited items enter the stadium. The police have explicitly prohibited spectators from bringing dangerous items, including flares; penalties include revocation of viewing rights.
To maintain the match’s conduciveness, the police have limited GBLA’s capacity to 32,000 spectators, about 75% of the total capacity. People without official tickets are strongly advised not to attempt to enter the stadium area. For supporters who do not obtain tickets, the local government, together with district authorities, has set up official viewing points (nobar) at several village offices and nearby police stations in Bandung.
This measure is intended to ensure that the season-ending celebration remains safe, orderly, and dignified for all football fans in West Java.
Persib coach Bojan Hodak instructed players to stay fully focused on the match against Persijap Jepara and ignore celebrations to help secure the Super League 2025/2026 trophy. Persib striker Ramon Tanque aims to win and score the clinching goal. Barba said the squad is aligned in pursuing maximum results, without being pulled off by individual matters or non-match euphoria. He added that the team is not under pressure ahead of the title-decider against Persijap Jepara.
