West Java Police Confirm Three Officers Face Ethics Sanctions for Intimidating Security Guard in Jakarta

BANDUNG – West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) have confirmed they will impose sanctions on three of their officers who intimidated security guard Fiktor Harefa at the HI Roundabout in Jakarta. The three officers have also apologised to the security guard over their arrogant behaviour.

Head of Public Relations at Polda Jabar, Police Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, conveyed an apology to the security guard at the HI Roundabout for the arrogant and improper conduct of the three West Java police officers. Although a reconciliation has taken place, this does not erase the sanctions against the three officers.

“Reconciliation between the parties does not remove the code of ethics sanctions against the three members, Ipda DG, Bripka BS, and Briptu RPW,” he said, quoting a statement on the Polda Jabar Professional Supervision Division (Propam) Instagram account on Saturday (25/7).

Hendra said the Polda Jabar Propam Division had questioned the three officers, and sufficient evidence was found that they had violated the police professional code of ethics under Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022.

“The questioning has been carried out, and sufficient evidence of a violation of the police professional code of ethics was found,” he said.

He said the results would be followed up through the code of ethics process and a police professional ethics hearing. The force, he added, is committed and consistent in taking firm and transparent action against any violations committed by its members.
