West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan has officially been promoted to the rank of Commissioner General (Komjen), a three-star general. The promotion ceremony was led directly by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the National Police Headquarters on Tuesday (30/6).

In the ceremony, Rudi was one of four high-ranking officers (pati) promoted to Commissioner General. The other three were Komjen Mulia Hasudungan Ritonga, Komjen Gatot Tri Suryanta, and Komjen Helmy Santika.

Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the promotion represents a form of trust and a mandate from the institution that must be realised through improved quality of service to the community. “A promotion is not merely a reward for a career journey, but also a mandate carrying greater responsibility. We hope all personnel who receive promotions will continue to strengthen integrity, professionalism, and leadership in providing protection, care, and the best service to the public,” Isir said in a statement on Tuesday (30/6).

During the ceremony, promotions to the rank of Inspector General, or two-star general, were granted to 29 high-ranking officers, including Inspector General Agus Wijayanto and Inspector General Himawan Bayu Aji. Additionally, 54 mid-ranking officers were officially promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, or one-star general.

Beyond the 87 high-ranking officers, promotions were also awarded to 878 mid-ranking officers, 1,289 first officers, 37,930 non-commissioned officers, and 1,394 enlisted personnel. In total, 41,578 National Police personnel received promotions as part of career development and recognition for their dedication and performance in carrying out police duties.

Isir noted that the promotions also serve as a symbol of the institution’s appreciation for the dedication and achievements of its personnel. He added that it is a momentum to strengthen the spirit of service in providing the best service to the community. “The trust given by the state and the institution must be answered with increasingly optimal performance. Make this promotion a motivation to continue presenting a National Police that is responsive, humanistic, professional, and increasingly trusted by the public,” he said.
