West Java Police Chief Reveals Victim's Injuries: Cuts and Cigarette Burns
West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan visited YTR (29), a female victim of abuse and confinement perpetrated by Taufik Hidayat (30). The police chief revealed that the victim sustained damage to several organs, as well as slash wounds on her legs and cigarette burns.
“The forensic doctor has been able to identify damaged organs that are no longer functioning. Among them are the eyes, the lips, there are slash marks on the legs from a sharp object, then there are cigarette burns, and so on. This will certainly serve as evidence of what happened or what was done by the suspect,” Rudi said at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
The results of the medical examination will later be used as evidence in the investigation of the case. Rudi confirmed that the victim’s condition is now improving.
“Today the victim is in better condition, both physically and psychologically. Wound cleaning and other procedures were carried out yesterday,” said Inspector General Rudi at RSHS Bandung on Tuesday (23/6).
Rudi and West Java Police investigators have communicated with the victim and her family. Currently, the victim’s recovery is the main focus alongside the ongoing investigation.
To track down Taufik Hidayat, the West Java Police have established a special team comprising the Directorate of Drug Investigation, Cyber Crime, Special Crimes, and General Crimes.
