West Java Police Chief Irjen Rudi Setiawan has targeted no sea accidents during the Eid holiday period in coastal tourist areas across West Java. This target was stated as a preventive measure against the increasing number of tourists crowding coastal regions.

“I have ordered all district police chiefs to ensure there are no more sea accidents. If there are any problems or obstacles, solutions must be found immediately,” he emphasised during inspections at the Karanghawu Beach and Kebon Kalapa Beach tourist areas in Sukabumi Regency.

According to him, supervision must be intensified by all police ranks, particularly to anticipate potential sea accidents. Officers are urged to remain vigilant with safety equipment such as life jackets and to increase the installation of prohibition signs at dangerous points.

The high enthusiasm of the public flocking to beach areas has drawn special attention from authorities, given the heightened risk potential at tourist sites during the holiday season.

Routine patrols by combined personnel, including the Water and Air Police (Polairud), are being intensified to provide direct advisories to tourists on complying with safety regulations.

On the same occasion, Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Samian stated that his team has followed up on the Police Chief’s directives by stationing personnel at several strategic points and increasing patrols in beach tourist areas.

He also urged the public to obey safety signs and follow officers’ instructions to create a safe, comfortable, and conducive situation during the holiday period.
