Bandung (ANTARA) – West Java Police Chief Inspector General Hengki affirmed his commitment to strengthening professional and equitable law enforcement, while improving transparency and the quality of public services within the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar).

Speaking in Bandung on Tuesday, Hengki said police transformation must be reflected in services that are quick and accessible, fair law enforcement, and the accountable exercise of authority.

“This means providing quick and accessible services, enforcing the law professionally and fairly, and exercising authority transparently and accountably,” he said.

He said he would continue the previous leadership’s programmes, which had benefited the public, while improving areas that still required attention.

According to Hengki, serving as West Java Police Chief is a major responsibility that involves not only the honour of the institution but also the duty to maintain public security and order.

He therefore urged all police personnel to strengthen discipline, improve service quality, and remain open to evaluation and continuous improvement.

“I ask leaders at every level to set an example, guide their personnel and foster a disciplined working culture that is open to improvement,” he said.

Hengki stressed that police leaders were responsible for building a professional working culture through example-setting and staff development.

To maintain security and order in West Java, he also called on all personnel to strengthen cooperation with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), local governments, relevant agencies and the public.

“I ask for your support and prayers, and invite all personnel to strengthen solidarity and synergy with the TNI, local governments, relevant agencies and all elements of society, in order to make West Java safe and conducive,” he said.

He said he hoped the West Java Regional Police would improve public services and address shortcomings on an ongoing basis, in line with the policy direction of the National Police Chief.
