West Java Police Chief Orders Total Crackdown on Bandung Robbers and Motorcycle Thieves

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto has urged all ranks of the Bandung Police to completely wipe out perpetrators of robbery and motorcycle theft. He also stressed that officers must protect and serve the community. He stated that his visit to the Bandung Police was to ascertain the latest conditions in the city. His party continues to encourage everyone to maintain and care for the West Java region. “How we answer all public complaints to resolve, prevent, and tackle prominent issues such as robbery and others,” he said at the Bandung Police Headquarters on Monday (10/8/2026). He continued that the Bandung Police face different challenges in maintaining public security and order in Greater Bandung, especially given the high number of motorcycle thefts, robberies, and other deviant behaviours. “I have seen the data; indeed, motorcycle theft is high, and robberies are also more frequent. With our presence alongside West Java Police high-ranking officials, we want to know about the human resources, the infrastructure, and the operations. We will check everything so that it can be better in the future,” he said.
