West Java Police Chief Orders Firm Action Against Street Robbers

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto said he has received the public’s aspirations regarding concerns about mugging incidents in the city of Bandung. Under his leadership, he is committed to taking firm and measured action against the perpetrators.

“Before arriving in West Java, alhamdulillah, we sought information by conducting research and surveys on the public’s expectations. One of the most frequently raised issues was the prevalence of muggings,” he said on the sidelines of a Bhabinkamtibmas parade at West Java Police Headquarters on Friday (17/7/2026).

He said cracking down on mugging is a commitment he holds as West Java Police Chief. For this reason, he gathered community security and order officers along with all relevant personnel. “We hope that all members of the public, wherever they are, do not want these mugging incidents to keep recurring,” he said.

He invited all members of society, including the Bhabinkamtibmas officers and community elements present at the parade, to tackle mugging together. The West Java Police Chief said his forces continue to act swiftly and collaborate with all elements of the community. “In carrying out our duties, insyaallah we are ready to fulfil all the public’s expectations to the best of our ability,” he said.
