West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto is giving special attention to the case of a suspected murder of a security guard whose body was found with hands cuffed in the Jatiluhur Reservoir. Pipit has deployed a joint team from the West Java Regional Police to assist the Purwakarta Police.

“Yes, Purwakarta, this is currently in process. We have ordered our ranks, including the Director of General Criminal Investigation here,” Pipit told reporters at the West Java Police Headquarters, as reported by detikjabar on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

Pipit mentioned that investigators from the Purwakarta Police have already conducted a case review. Nevertheless, the West Java Regional Police are also stepping in to handle this case.

“Their investigators have already held a review of the preliminary investigation results, starting from the crime scene processing. This will certainly be an evaluation for us, but we will deploy a joint team to back up the Purwakarta Police so that hopefully this can be resolved quickly,” he explained.

Pipit stressed that the Purwakarta Police are still conducting their investigation and he urged all parties not to be influenced by information whose veracity has not been confirmed.

“We also appeal for there to be no confusing information that misleads the public, causing misperception and miscommunication. Let our team go into the field to uncover this,” he concluded.
