West Java Parliament Women's Caucus Distributes Aid to Children's Home on National Children's Day

The West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Women’s Caucus (KPP) commemorated National Children’s Day by distributing aid to children at the UPTD Griya Ramah Anak social service centre in Pagaden, Subang Regency, on Tuesday. The initiative was described as a form of moral support and concern for children undergoing guidance and protection at the facility.

KPP West Java DPRD Chairperson Siti Muntamah stated that the visit was intended not only to deliver aid but also to provide encouragement. “Our presence here is not just to hand over assistance, but also to give spirit, attention, and affection to the children. They are the next generation who deserve protection, education, and a better future,” she said. She emphasised that the caucus would continue to oversee policies favouring women and children through its legislative, budgeting, and supervisory functions.

The aid provided included headscarves, socks, sports shoes, whiteboards, folding study tables, and cash. Head of the Griya Ramah Anak Subdivision, Teti Tedjaningrum, noted that the assistance was a follow-up to previously identified needs. She explained that the centre currently serves 100 children from diverse backgrounds, including 13 children with disabilities. “Most of the children here are from Subang Regency with varying conditions and needs, so support from various parties is very meaningful,” she said. Children with disabilities who no longer have parents are referred to the Social Service Centre for Disability Hope (PPSGHD) for further care.
