West Java Legislator Urges Public to be Wary of Dubious Investment Offers

Bandung (ANTARA) - Chairman of Commission III of the West Java Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Jajang Rohana, has urged the public to be vigilant before deciding to invest, especially in light of the increasing number of dubious investment cases.

Jajang stated that the public needs to check with the relevant authorities before investing their funds and should not be easily tempted by promises of large profits in a short period of time.

“Currently, there are many investment offers with promises of high returns. The public must be careful and not immediately believe them. Ensure the legality first,” said Jajang in Bandung, Thursday.

Jajang emphasised that one of the important steps that the public can take is to ensure that the company or investment institution is registered and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

“Please check directly with the OJK or through the available official channels. Don’t let being tempted by large returns actually harm yourself and your family,” he said.

He added that caution is the key to maintaining financial security, so the public needs to improve their financial literacy in order to understand the risks and the correct investment mechanisms.

“Take the time to examine in detail before making a decision. The principle is simple, it is better to be cautious from the beginning than to regret it later,” said Jajang.

According to him, healthy investments generally offer reasonable profits with a transparent scheme. If there are offers that are unreasonable or seem secretive, the public is advised to consult with the authorities.

“It is better to take the time to check the legality and scheme in detail than to regret it later. The principle is, be cautious and don’t be in a hurry,” he said.
