West Java Legislator Urges Local Governments to Update Citizen Data to Restore PBI JK Membership
Kuningan (ANTARA) - Member of the West Java Provincial DPRD, Toto Suharto, has urged village governments in Kuningan Regency to immediately update citizen data to restore Penerima Bantuan Iuran Jaminan Kesehatan (PBI JK) program membership status.
In a statement in Kuningan on Wednesday, Toto said that proactive measures from village governments are needed so that the issue of membership revocation, which reportedly affects around 40,000 residents, can be addressed immediately.
He explained that the revocation of membership in the program can occur due to the data update process and the implementation of a scoring system for beneficiaries.
However, he believes that the system does not fully reflect the actual conditions on the ground.
Toto stated that the administrative approach must still consider the real conditions of residents to avoid creating inequality in access to health services.
“Ideally, the category of ‘unable’ should be viewed holistically, not just based on a numerical score,” he said.
Therefore, he asked village officials in Kuningan Regency to proactively inventory affected residents so that their data can be immediately verified and resubmitted.
He cited an example from the results of his working visit in Kutamandarakan Village, Kuningan, where 106 residents were affected by the revocation of PBI JK membership based on local village government data.
Similar issues, he said, were also reported by village officials from almost 60 villages visited during the working visit in Kuningan.
“The problem of health facility access being revoked is not a small number,” he said.
He ensured that the aspirations gathered from the community would be discussed further at the provincial level to encourage appropriate solutions for the community, especially in the health sector.
“We will serve and support the needs of the community, especially in health,” he said.
