West Java High Prosecutor's Office Searches Indramayu DPRD Office Over Housing Allowance Corruption

A team of investigators from the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Jabar) carried out a surprise search at the Indramayu Regency DPRD office on Wednesday (10/6). The closed-door search is strongly suspected to be linked to an investigation into an alleged corruption case involving Housing Allowances (Tuper) for the 2022 fiscal year. Based on gathered information, the Kejati Jabar team arrived at the parliament building at approximately 09.30 WIB. Indramayu Regency DPRD Secretary Dulyono confirmed the investigators’ arrival. He admitted to being shocked upon receiving a report from his staff about the prosecutor’s presence in his office. “I was also surprised when I got news from my staff about Kejati Jabar’s arrival. At the time I was at BPKAD, then immediately returned to the office,” said Dulyono while giving a statement to the media. Dulyono explained that he briefly met with the investigative team and examined the assignment letter they brought. During the process, the Kejati team requested a number of important documents for the investigation. The search lasted roughly three and a half hours and concluded around 13.00 WIB. Upon leaving the premises, the Kejati Jabar team was seen carrying a suitcase containing documents obtained from the search. “What I saw was one suitcase, but it was not full,” Dulyono added. Following the search, a representative of the Indramayu DPRD Treasurer was reported to have immediately proceeded to the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office in Bandung. The treasurer’s presence was intended to sign the official handover report for the items that were seized by investigators. Although the DPRD Secretariat has not issued an official statement regarding the details of the case, the search is suspected to be related to the alleged corruption of the 2022 Indramayu DPRD housing allowance, which has now advanced to the investigation stage. The case emerged following an Audit Report (LHP) from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK). The BPK audit report uncovered irregularities in the process of providing housing allowances to Indramayu DPRD members. The potential state loss in this case is estimated to reach Rp16.8 billion for the 2022 fiscal year.
