Republica.co.id, Bandung – The West Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) is investigating a case of alleged corruption at the West Java Provincial Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas Jabar). The report was filed by a former Baznas West Java employee identified by the initials TY in 2025. Nur Sricahyawijaya, the spokesperson for public information and documentation (Kasipenkum) of the West Java Prosecutor’s Office, said the report of alleged corruption at Baznas West Java was lodged by its former employee, TY, last year. He stated the investigation process is still ongoing up to now. ‘Yes, it was last year (the report),’ he said when contacted on Wednesday (4/3/2026). He said they have invited several witnesses and reporters to give statements. However, the Kasipenkum revealed that they have not yet conducted witness examinations. ‘Only some witnesses and the reporter have been invited and asked for statements, not witness examinations,’ he said. He added that going forward investigators will conduct further investigations to gather evidence and summon witnesses related to the case. After the investigative stage is fulfilled, the Kasipenkum said they will move to the prosecution stage. ‘Next, there is still a long way to go in the investigation stage; gathering evidence is difficult and takes a long time, not quick,’ he said. Previously, TY, a former Baznas employee of West Java Province, was reported to the police for allegedly revealing the alleged corruption case involving zakat funds amounting to Rp 9.8 billion and a grant from the West Java Provincial Government of Rp 3.5 billion within the organisation. He has now been named a suspect by the West Java Police.
