The West Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Jabar) has confirmed it has stopped collecting data on problematic Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme units in the region. This action follows a circular from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) instructing all provincial high prosecutor’s offices to cease gathering data and information related to issues within the MBG programme.

Nur Sricahyawijaya, Head of Public Relations at Kejati Jabar, stated that the office had received the circular and complied with the directive. “It has been stopped. The implementation of the SPPG data collection has been halted,” she said on Wednesday. She noted that the data collection had been ongoing for some time before the order was issued.

While the office had already gathered data on a significant number of units, Sricahyawijaya could not confirm the exact number of problematic SPPGs that had been identified. “There were many, but the exact number is not yet known. The important thing is that it has been stopped as requested,” she added. She clarified that the process was limited to data collection and had not progressed to a formal investigation.

The Attorney General’s Office circular, numbered B-2668/F.2/Fd.2/06/2026, was issued following a report from the Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office regarding media coverage of data collection activities on the SPPG. The directive ordered all provincial high prosecutor’s offices to immediately halt any activities related to gathering data and information on the MBG programme within their respective jurisdictions.
