West Java Health Office to Help Bandung Torture Victim Yuvita Recover from Trauma
Yuvita Tri Rezeki (29), a victim of alleged confinement and torture by her boyfriend, Taufik Hidayat (30), will undergo psychological recovery. The victim is currently focusing on medical treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung after enduring the horrific ordeal for three years.
The victim was held captive and tortured by the perpetrator in a rented house in Gang Mesjid, Cinunuk Village, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, West Java. Her whereabouts and condition were only discovered by her family in a critical state at the hospital, after they received a message from a mysterious sender stating that the victim was under medical care.
‘God willing, she will be placed in a Safe House later, so she will not go home first,’ said the Head of the West Java Provincial Health Office, Raden Vini Adiani Dewi, in West Bandung on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
She explained that in addition to receiving medical treatment at RSHS Bandung, her office will also deploy psychologists to restore the victim’s psychological condition. This is necessary because the victim suffered trauma after being held captive and tortured by her boyfriend for three years before the case was finally uncovered.
‘Indeed, that is a complete package (for the victim’s trauma recovery),’ Vini stated.
