West Java Governor Urges Residents to Report Fraud in Student Admissions
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has asked residents to help oversee the implementation of the 2026 New Student Admission System (SPMB) and to report any fraud discovered during the new student admissions process. He emphasised the importance of residents including evidence and data in reports regarding alleged violations of student admissions regulations, so that local government and law enforcement can immediately conduct investigations. “Where? Name it. Don’t just give issues, please name them. Whoever is buying and selling, name them, which teacher, which official, name them. Just report it. Yes, report it, legal process,” he said at the West Java Provincial Education Office in Bandung on Tuesday. Dedi stated that active public participation in oversight is needed to realise an objective, fair, and transparent new student admissions process. The West Java Provincial Government will take action against violators of the new student admissions regulations. Dedi conveyed that the 2026 SPMB has been designed to minimise the possibility of fraud in new student admissions. Responding to allegations of fraudulent practices in state school admissions, he said the government is striving to ensure the SPMB is run objectively and transparently. “It is clear, even many children of officials did not pass,” he said.
