The implementation of the 2026 Prospective New Student Mapping (PCMB), which has drawn numerous complaints, has garnered serious attention from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi. Dedi has now transferred the management of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) from the Education Agency (Disdik) to the Communications and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo). Not only that, he simultaneously deactivated the Head of the Education Technology Information and Communication Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD Tikomdik) of the West Java Education Agency, Suhendar, for being deemed incapable of overseeing the PCMB registration process. The move was taken after a wave of public complaints continued to surface in recent days. Thousands of prospective students experienced obstacles ranging from unverified accounts, failure to log into the system, unreadable data, to issues with Maung School participants who had to redo the regular registration process. Dedi even visited the West Java Education Agency office directly to hear complaints from parents and request an explanation from the team responsible for the registration system. According to Dedi, from the outset the West Java Provincial Government actually had a policy that all government applications must be built and managed in an integrated manner by Diskominfo. Therefore, he assessed that the separate development of applications by regional apparatuses is one of the problems that must be immediately rectified. Consequently, the management of the SPMB system is now officially under the control of the West Java Diskominfo. For the interim, Dedi appointed the Head of the e-Government Division of the West Java Diskominfo, Mark Aditya, as the Acting Head of the UPTD Tikomdik. β€˜Let it be handled first (by Diskominfo) until a definitive new official is appointed,’ said Dedi. The replacement was carried out simultaneously with the deactivation of Suhendar from his position.
