West Java Governor to Meet Police Chief on Deploying Armed Personnel Against Street Crime

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has stated he will meet with West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the crackdown on street criminals. He will propose deploying armed personnel to areas prone to violent robberies. “We will meet with the Police Chief to finalise the steps,” he said after a bus rapid transit (BRT) groundbreaking ceremony at the Leuwipanjang Terminal on Wednesday. The governor said he would push the police chief to station armed officers in vulnerable locations, hoping the measure can be realised to make Bandung and West Java safer.
