West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has removed the head of the Soekarno Hatta Samsat office in Bandung City from his position due to the failure to implement a gubernatorial circular permitting motor vehicle tax payments without the original owner’s ID. He has also deployed the inspectorate and the Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) to investigate the implementation of the said circular.

“Staff who do not serve the public properly and ignore the Governor’s Circular have been found. Therefore, today, I have temporarily deactivated the head of the Soekarno-Hatta Samsat,” he stated on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

He explained that the investigation stems from the suboptimal implementation of the circular. Dedi Mulyadi stated that a thorough examination is being conducted to identify the root causes of the stalled implementation of the regulation at the grassroots level.

“This investigation aims to uncover the facts behind why the circular has not been implemented effectively. I have instructed all Samsat operators to take public service seriously and not to ignore the established regulations,” he said.

He hopes this issue serves as a lesson for all parties. Dedi is committed to providing the best service to the people of West Java.

“Do not complicate things for the public with rules that we have already simplified,” he added.
