West Java Governor KDM Launches Bounty Hunt, Offers Rp50 Million for Capturing Begal

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has once again made a bold move by launching a bounty. Residents who manage to catch and subdue muggers and other perpetrators of crime will receive a reward of between Rp5 million and Rp50 million. The condition is that he requests criminals be captured and handed over to the police alive.

“I am offering a bounty to all the people of West Java who can subdue thieves, pickpockets, bag snatchers, muggers and robbers — we have prepared rewards ranging from Rp5 million to Rp50 million,” he said, quoted on Thursday (23/7/2026).

The man familiarly known as KDM said he had declared an alert status in facing muggers. KDM said he had coordinated with the West Java Regional Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police to deal with various criminal acts in West Java. KDM asked that patrol cars be on standby every night.

“Warning lights must stay on,” said the former Purwakarta regent.
