West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has confirmed that the Rp 250 million bounty for the capture of Taufik Hidayat, the perpetrator of the abuse and confinement of Yuvita Tri Rezeki, has concluded. Following the suspect’s arrest by the police, he stated that the funds would be given to the victim. ‘To all netizens, wherever you are, we announce that the bounty for anyone who found the perpetrator of the barbaric act against Vita, namely Taufik Hidayat, would be given Rp 250 million. The bounty has ended and the perpetrator has been arrested by the West Java Regional Police,’ he said via his Instagram account. He confirmed that he had coordinated with West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, who suggested the money be handed over to the victim’s family. Dedi stated he would hand over a deposit certificate worth Rp 250 million. ‘On 1 July, coinciding with Bhayangkara Day, we will hand over a deposit certificate at Bank Jabar worth Rp 250 million,’ he said. He expressed his gratitude to all parties who moved quickly to uncover the case and hoped similar incidents would not occur. ‘I thank the West Java Regional Police for making a swift arrest,’ he said. The West Java Regional Police revealed the escape route of Taufik Hidayat, the suspect in the abuse and confinement case that left victim Yuvita Tri Rezeki blind. The suspect had fled to Tangerang but returned to Bandung because he was constantly haunted by fear. West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said the suspect moved to Tangerang after the case of abuse and confinement against his girlfriend Yuvita went viral on social media. However, while there, the suspect felt unsafe and moved back to Bandung. ‘The story of his escape was told earlier, the person concerned had moved to Tangerang. He felt that Tangerang was a safe place, but there he was also confused and felt unsafe, and returned again to West Java,’ he said.
