Bandung — West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has joined the outcry surrounding the death of SMAN 5 Bandung student Fahdly Arjasubrata, who is believed to have been the victim of a mob attack. The governor has called on police to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and prosecute them according to law.

“I express my condolences on the death of Fahdly Arjasubrata, a student at SMAN 5 Bandung who died shortly after performing the breaking of fast at 23:00 on 13 March,” said Dedi Mulyadi on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

The governor explained that the deceased died whilst riding a motorcycle and was struck by objects thrown at him, causing him to lose control. Additionally, there are allegations that he was assaulted by others.

Dedi Mulyadi has referred the investigation of the case to police authorities. He has demanded that those suspected of taking Fahdly’s life receive punishment proportionate to their actions.

“Hopefully this case will proceed objectively and the perpetrators will receive punishment befitting what they have done,” he stated.

He has called on all parents to tighten night-time supervision of their children. Moreover, the governor urged parents not to allow students to remain out of the house at night.

“I call on all parents to ensure their children do not go out at night, and also not to ride motorcycles unless they possess a valid driving licence,” he said.
