West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi Offers Rewards for Reporting Tramadol Circulation

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi is offering rewards for residents who expose the circulation of tramadol and certain hard drugs in the West Java region. The move is part of the West Java Provincial Government’s efforts to suppress the distribution of narcotics, unlicensed hard drugs, and illegal alcoholic beverages, which are considered increasingly rampant, including being traded in unlicensed stalls. Dedi Mulyadi urged residents to report such findings to the authorities or through social media posts. He stressed that members of the public who actively report will be given a reward. “We are saying that now many are selling tramadol and there are illegal alcoholic beverage stalls. For West Java residents who can post, tell stories about tramadol stalls on social media, I will also give a reward. Let’s enliven social media by showing people selling in West Java and damaging the morals of West Java’s children,” said Dedi Mulyadi. West Java Police Chief Pipit Rismanto has instructed all ranks to strengthen coordination in handling cases of narcotics, hard drug, and illegal alcohol abuse. The directive is a follow-up to a cross-sectoral coordination meeting involving various elements, including local governments. “We invite all elements of society and government agencies to close ranks, from prevention steps to strict supervision to ensure the young generation in West Java grows up healthy and productive,” explained Pipit. Collaboration between law enforcement and the community is expected to narrow the space for perpetrators while providing a deterrent effect against the distribution of illegal drugs. The strengthened supervision has begun to yield results. The Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit successfully uncovered a case of unlicensed hard drug distribution in Darangdan District, Purwakarta Regency. In the case, police arrested a man with the initials FF (24) who was suspected of selling illegal pharmaceutical preparations in the form of tramadol and hexymer. Officers seized 940 hexymer pills, 275 tramadol pills, and IDR 1 million in cash believed to be from sales proceeds.
