West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi Offers Bounty of Up to Rp50 Million for Capturing Street Criminals

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has announced a new public bounty, offering cash rewards to residents who manage to capture street criminals. The governor stated that individuals who successfully immobilise perpetrators of begal (motorcycle theft), robbery, and other street crimes will receive rewards ranging from Rp5 million to Rp50 million.

“I am offering a bounty to all residents of West Java who can immobilise thieves, pickpockets, begal, and robbers,” Dedi Mulyadi said on Thursday (23/7/2026). He emphasised that the reward is conditional on the suspects being captured alive and handed over to the police.

Dedi Mulyadi also declared a state of alert in West Java to combat street crime. He confirmed that he has coordinated with the West Java Regional Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police to address criminal activities in the province. He has instructed that police patrol cars must be on standby every night. “The hazard lights must remain on,” he said.

Additionally, Satpol PP (Public Order Agency) officers and firefighters will be stationed at strategic points to anticipate various criminal activities. The governor also encouraged residents to revive the community patrol system, known as siskamling, to protect themselves. “Residents conducting siskamling are protecting themselves and being protected; this is the basic principle of mutual cooperation,” he stated. He called on the entire community to remain vigilant and to be brave in fighting against criminal acts in West Java.

This latest bounty follows a previous initiative by Dedi Mulyadi, who offered a reward of Rp250 million for the capture of Taufik Hidayat, a suspect in a case involving severe abuse and the confinement of Yuvita Tri Rezeki.
