West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi Offers Bounty for Capturing Street Criminals

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has announced a bounty for residents who assist in capturing street criminals, offering rewards ranging from IDR 5 million to IDR 50 million. The announcement was made via his personal Instagram account, where he stated that the reward applies to those who can subdue thieves, pickpockets, snatchers, muggers, and robbers and hand them over to the police alive. The policy is intended to bolster security in West Java, with the Governor emphasising that eradicating crime requires active community involvement, not just reliance on law enforcement. In addition to the bounty scheme, Dedi Mulyadi revealed that the West Java Provincial Government is continuously coordinating with the West Java Regional Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police to address criminal activity in the region. He also urged security officers to keep patrol vehicles on standby every night with warning lights activated, and instructed Satpol PP and fire brigade units to be positioned at strategic points. Furthermore, he called on residents to reactivate neighbourhood watch systems as a form of mutual cooperation to maintain safety.
