West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi Hands Over Rp4 Billion in Aid to NTT Earthquake Victims

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has personally handed over aid from various elements in West Java worth Rp4 billion to help repair homes damaged by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The housing repair assistance scheme is set based on the level of building damage, namely Rp20 million for the heavily damaged category, Rp10 million for moderate damage, and Rp5 million for houses with light damage.

“Residents can rest assured, damaged homes can be repaired soon. Hopefully NTT will recover and rise quickly,” said Dedi Mulyadi in a statement in Bandung on Sunday.

In addition to handing over financial aid, while directly inspecting a number of earthquake-affected locations in NTT since Friday (21/8), Dedi also distributed logistical assistance to meet the basic daily needs of affected communities. This included fulfilling food supplies and daily consumption in evacuation tents.

The West Java Provincial Government’s emergency response measures were met with emotional appreciation from local residents who are struggling to recover from the post-disaster conditions.

“Thank you for helping Flores,” said one of the aid beneficiaries, Nina.

It was reported that humanitarian support for NTT earthquake victims from the West Java region also flowed from elements of the state civil apparatus (ASN) and the people of Depok City, who also raised assistance worth Rp500 million.
