Bandung (ANTARA) – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi is relying on the Nyari Gawe programme to ensure investment in the region continues to grow while creating employment opportunities for residents.

“Investment in West Java continues to surge, and hopefully this investment will have an impact on the availability of jobs,” Dedi said in Bandung on Wednesday.

He said the West Java Provincial Government was continuing to urge industrial companies to be more open in providing employment opportunities for the public.

“The Nyari Gawe service system is one of many ways to create jobs transparently and deliver benefits for the public interest,” he said.

According to Dedi, the service is one way of helping people access job opportunities. However, not all jobseekers can be accommodated because of the limited number of jobs available.

Dedi said the Nyari Gawe application, managed by the West Java Communications and Informatics Office and the Manpower and Transmigration Office, had recorded 728,085 jobseekers and a total of 2.4 million applications as of 21 October 2026.

Of the 803 registered companies, 230 had advertised vacancies, offering a total of 32,125 positions. Meanwhile, 1,282 applicants had been recorded as hired through the service.

By location, Subang Regency had the highest number of jobseekers, at 92,172, followed by Karawang Regency with 79,110 and Bekasi Regency with 52,852.

Purwakarta Regency had 43,380 jobseekers, followed by Bandung Regency with 42,159. A further 41,036 jobseekers were from outside West Java.

Data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) showed that combined realisation of foreign and domestic investment in West Java reached Rp91 trillion in the third quarter of 2026.

That figure represented 17.2 per cent of total national investment and was the highest among all provinces.
