West Java Governor and Police Destroy Evidence, Including Illegal Exhausts and Tramadol
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, together with West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto, destroyed evidence from various criminal cases at the West Java Regional Police headquarters on Friday. The destroyed items included non-standard exhausts, commonly known as ‘brong’ exhausts, as well as narcotics and certain hard drugs such as tramadol.
Governor Mulyadi, popularly known as KDM, expressed his appreciation for the police’s efforts in protecting and maintaining public order and security in the province. He specifically lauded the serious action taken against the use of brong exhausts. “Roads are not centres of noise or conflict. Therefore, we must start by disciplining motorcyclists, especially those on two-wheelers, to use standard exhausts,” he stated.
Drawing from his experience since his time as a member of the House of Representatives, the governor said he has consistently taken action against such violations. He announced a new policy where the provincial government will provide standard replacement exhausts for offenders who cannot afford to buy them, with the replacements to be stored at police stations.
Regarding the crackdown on drugs, KDM highlighted the focus on certain hard drugs like tramadol due to their easy accessibility. “Access to these drugs is very easy for the public because they are sold in small roadside stalls. My policy is that if a stall is found selling them, the building will be demolished,” he warned.
West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto detailed the results of the recent operations. During June to August 2026, the police uncovered 352 cases of street crime, leading to the arrest of 413 suspects and the recovery of 1,016 motorcycles and 12 cars from vehicle theft cases. In the crackdown on narcotics, psychotropics, and illicit liquor, officers seized 1,718.43 grams of methamphetamine, 2,917 grams of cannabis, 612 ecstasy pills, 618.86 grams of synthetic tobacco, 822 psychotropic pills, and a staggering 2.72 million hard drug pills, including tramadol. Additionally, 25,000 bottles of various alcoholic beverages were confiscated.
