West Java Government to Rebuild 51 Homes for Fire Victims in Kasepuhan Adat Ciptamulya

The West Java Provincial Government will rebuild 51 houses destroyed in a massive fire at the Kasepuhan Adat Ciptamulya traditional community in Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency. The incident occurred on Saturday (25/7/2026).

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi confirmed the government would immediately intervene, stating the area is part of West Java’s cultural heritage that must be preserved. He said he had contacted the leader of Kasepuhan Adat Ciptamulya, Abah Asep, to convey the government’s commitment to rebuilding the burnt houses. “I just telephoned Abah Asep and I have conveyed that the 51 burnt houses will soon be rebuilt by the West Java Provincial Government,” said the governor, familiarly known as KDM, on Sunday (26/7/2026).

According to KDM, Kasepuhan Adat Ciptamulya is one of West Java’s cultural treasures that needs to be preserved. The indigenous community in the area is known for living independently, harmoniously, and maintaining traditions passed down through generations. “Because it is a cultural treasure we possess and they are an indigenous community that has been independent, capable of building a harmonious life,” KDM said.

He also urged all residents of Kasepuhan Adat Ciptamulya to remain calm in facing the disaster. He assured that the government would soon arrive at the location to assist with the recovery process and rebuild the burnt houses. “Hopefully Abah and all residents remain calm; in no time at all we will come down and rebuild Kasepuhan Ciptamulya. Thank you, greetings to everyone,” he said.
