West Java Government Seeks Input from Sundanese Leaders to Realise 'Jabar Istimewa' Vision

The West Java Provincial Government is providing support and appreciation for the Majelis Musyawarah Sunda (MMS) as a platform for Sundanese leaders from various backgrounds to exchange ideas. Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman stated during the MMS meeting at the Imeri FKUI Building in Central Jakarta on Saturday that the government values the input from these prominent figures. “This is extraordinary. The West Java Provincial Government provides support and appreciation, and the most important thing is how the prominent figures in West Java who are members of the MMS can contribute ideas, criticism, and suggestions to improve development performance in West Java,” he said. According to Herman, West Java’s development requires collaboration and support from all elements of society, including figures with experience and concern for regional progress. He hopes the MMS can become a strategic partner in providing input to the government. “Ultimately, the goal is how to make West Java Istimewa (Special),” he said. Herman emphasised that realising this vision cannot be done by the government alone and requires a spirit of mutual cooperation from the entire community. He specifically requested that the Sundanese leaders in the MMS continue to provide constructive criticism and suggestions for the region’s development. The MMS meeting in Jakarta was part of its second anniversary celebrations and served as a gathering space for Sundanese figures from various fields, including academics, government officials, cultural experts, and professionals. Throughout its journey, the MMS has developed forums to discuss various issues ranging from culture, social affairs, and the environment to the economy and national issues.
