The West Java Provincial Government has concluded the Pancawaluya 2026 School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) with an Ecology Action centred at the Cikutra Heroes’ Cemetery in Bandung City on Tuesday. The event was held simultaneously across 882 state school locations and involved 343,374 new students from state senior high schools (SMA) and vocational schools (SMK).

West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman stressed that the Ecology Action is not merely a symbolic closing ceremony for the MPLS, but the beginning of character building that must be realised in daily life. “This activity is symbolic. The most important thing is the real action after returning home, to school, and to the community,” he said.

Head of the West Java Education Office, Purwanto, explained that the Ecology Action is part of pedagogical practice in implementing the Pancawaluya character education programme. “Ecology Action is not a one-day event. It is a learning practice that must become a habit in schools, starting from maintaining personal hygiene, classrooms, schoolyards, to the surrounding environment,” he stated.

The activity was carried out collaboratively with River Clean Up Indonesia, the Sapulidi Community, regional apparatuses, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and various other environmental care communities.
