JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — West Java is considered a key region for the growth of the local interior industry, driven by high levels of residential construction, renovations, and commercial interior projects in the area.

In response, interior materials manufacturer Javaco has introduced the Jawara programme — Javaco Waktunya Juara — for craftsmen, workshops, and interior industry players in West Java.

“Through Jawara, we aim to build closer and more sustainable relationships with the craftsmen who have grown alongside Javaco,” said Javaco President Director Roberto Saputra in a statement on Sunday (24 May 2026).

“We believe brand growth is not only determined by product quality, but also by the trust and loyalty of the communities using our products daily,” he added.

According to Roberto, the development of the interior industry requires craftsmen to work more precisely, efficiently, and keep up with constantly changing design trends.

On the other hand, the demand for materials that are easy to apply and durable has become increasingly important to support daily interior work processes.

The growth of the interior industry aligns with the expansion of the national furniture industry in recent years. The Ministry of Industry reported a 2.07 per cent growth in the furniture sector throughout 2024, with Indonesia’s furniture exports reaching $1.91 billion between January and December 2024.

Data from the Ministry of Industry citing Expert Market Research also projects the global furniture market to grow at an average rate of 4.9 per cent between 2025 and 2034.

The region is known for its interior business ecosystem, ranging from home-based operations, independent workshops, to commercial interior projects.

Moreover, West Java’s craftsmen communities are noted for their strong collaborative culture, actively sharing work references and material recommendations.

The Jawara programme involves purchasing Javaco’s HPL products and culminates in an appreciation evening held in Bajawa, Bandung, West Java, on Friday (22 May 2026).

The event also featured local West Java influencer Melga Septrida, known as Bos Bubun, and actor from the drama series Preman Pensiun.

As the local interior industry grows, Javaco views collaboration among business players as a key factor in strengthening the regional industrial ecosystem.

West Java’s craftsmen communities are actively sharing work references, project experiences, and material recommendations in their daily activities.

“Ultimately, Javaco believes the interior industry’s growth cannot be achieved alone. There is a role for shops, workshops, and craftsmen who have grown alongside us,” Roberto said.

“Through Jawara, we aim to continue being part of their journey while growing together in the long term,” he concluded.
