The West Java Provincial Education Department (Disdik Jabar) has disclosed that 3,823 honorary teachers and staff in West Java have not been paid for two months, namely March and April 2026. The salary payments are governed by regulations from the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB). “The number is 3,823, including teachers, administrative staff, security, and cleaning personnel. They are delayed by two months; we have not been able to pay their salaries due to a circular from the Minister of PANRB,” he stated on Wednesday (22/4/2026). He mentioned having coordinated with West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to address the problem. Purwanto said that honorary staff are still needed within the West Java Education Department environment. “Their salaries vary, with a total of around Rp7 billion per month, so for two months, it’s about Rp14 billion,” he added. His side is currently seeking ways to pay the salaries of these honorary teachers and administrative staff. The teachers and honorary staff are distributed across senior high schools (SMA) and vocational high schools (SMK) in West Java and have fulfilled their working hours in accordance with applicable regulations. Purwanto continued that they will maximise the existing teachers and honorary staff and cannot yet confirm whether they will add more honorary personnel. He stated that the need for educational and educational support personnel in West Java requires 60,000 people. He added that these honorary staff have not yet been appointed as full-time or part-time PPPK. Meanwhile, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said he will visit the Minister of PANRB to discuss the matter. He will visit the ministry as soon as possible.
