The Head of the West Java Education Office (Disdik), Purwanto, has responded calmly to a report filed against him by parents to the West Java Ombudsman. He stated that parents are welcome to submit their complaint. “Yes, we welcome it. If there is a complaint, we will just follow the process; we are a state governed by law,” he said in Bandung on Monday (15/6/2026).

Previously, the West Java representative office of the Ombudsman announced it would investigate allegations of maladministration in the Candidate Student Mapping (PCMB) and the New Student Admission Selection (SPMB) for senior high school level. The office has received complaints from parents and the West Java branch of the Indonesian Education Retirees Association.

Acting Head of the West Java Ombudsman, Fitry Agustine, confirmed receipt of the complaint from the Indonesian Education Retirees Association regarding the implementation of the 2026 PCMB-SPMB. Her office has also received a complaint directly from parents. “We are following up because they meet the legal standing as direct victims. There was a complainant earlier, and we will follow up by coordinating with the Education Office,” she stated on Monday (15/6/2026).

She did not rule out the possibility of conducting an examination of the West Java Education Office. However, the timing of the examination cannot be disclosed publicly. “We cannot tell you when, because the examination is confidential,” she said. The Education Office will seek to prove whether maladministration occurred in the implementation of the 2026 PCMB and SPMB.
