Bandung - Commission V of the West Java DPRD has urged the provincial government to realise the construction of permanent health service posts at strategic rest area points to support various activities such as homecoming, prioritising patient privacy.

This was stated by Deputy Chair of Commission V of the West Java DPRD, Siti Muntamah, in Cimahi, West Java, on Wednesday, who observed that at the health post located on the 2026 Eid homecoming route, there were findings of insufficient privacy spaces for patients in the emergency facilities.

One of them is at the Rest Area KM 125 in Cimahi City, which according to Siti, although the readiness of personnel and medical collaboration is optimal, the limitation of physical facilities remains the main obstacle in providing maximum comfort for homecomers.

“Hopefully in the future, this health service post can have more independent and permanent spaces. This is important to maintain patient privacy as well as to demonstrate the government’s seriousness,” said Siti Muntamah.

The politician, familiarly known as Umi, highlighted the on-site conditions where the health service spaces are still mixed with other officers, such as security teams.

This is deemed to make the space utilisation suboptimal, especially during medical handling that requires calmness.

However, functionally, Siti appreciated the readiness of health workers, the availability of ambulances, and the referral system to hospitals that has run solidly during the 2026 Eid Transportation period.

“Alhamdulillah, overall, the team on duty is very ready and solid. From the health workers at the post, standby ambulances, to the collaborative hospital support that has been prepared,” she said.

As a follow-up, Commission V will bring this evaluation result to the level of the West Java Provincial Government to encourage collaboration with the local regional government.

The aim is to ensure that rest areas are not only temporary rest places but also have representative medical facilities ready to face the annual surge of homecomers.
