West Java DPRD to Oversee Batutulis New Route Development to Completion
BOGOR — Ono Surono, Deputy Speaker of the West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), inspected the progress of the new Batutulis route in South Bogor Subdistrict, Bogor City, over the weekend. The inspection was carried out to ensure the project runs according to target and can be completed by October 2026.
According to Ono, the construction of the new Batutulis route is a follow-up to the landslide disaster that occurred in 2025 and temporarily cut off transport access in the area. He explained that the physical construction is financed through the West Java Provincial Regional Budget (APBD), whilst land acquisition is the responsibility of the Bogor City Government.
“Thank God, construction is now underway. The construction is financed through the West Java Provincial APBD, whilst land acquisition is being carried out by the Bogor City Government,” Ono said during the site inspection.
Ono appreciated the synergy between the West Java Provincial Government and the Bogor City Government, which he considered a key factor in accelerating the construction of the new Batutulis route. According to him, collaboration between governments is necessary so that this long-awaited project can be completed on schedule.
Based on reports from the project contractor, construction progress has so far reached around 22 per cent. Ono is optimistic that the works can be completed by October 2026 so that they can immediately benefit the public.
He explained that the project covers not only the construction of a new road, but is also equipped with a drainage system, park landscaping, and reforestation of the Leuweung Batutulis area as part of disaster mitigation efforts.
“God willing, construction will be completed in October 2026. What is being built is not just the road, but also drainage, a park, and reforestation of the Leuweung Batutulis area so that the risk of landslides in the future can be minimised,” he said.
In addition to reviewing construction progress, Ono also reminded the project contractor to pay attention to the impact of the works on community activities. He requested that road cleanliness be maintained by ensuring that materials carried by project vehicles do not dirty the road sections.
According to Ono, the West Java DPRD will continue to oversee strategic infrastructure development so that it is completed on time, is of good quality, and provides benefits to the public. The construction of the new Batutulis route is expected not only to restore transport access that was severed by the landslide, but also to strengthen disaster mitigation efforts through sustainable and environmentally friendly development.
