West Java DPRD Secretariat Finalises Preparations for 81st Anniversary Plenary Session
The West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Secretariat has confirmed that preparations for the plenary session marking the 81st anniversary of West Java Province have reached 99 per cent. The plenary session is scheduled to take place at Pasanggrahan Pancarasa, Gedung Sate, on Wednesday evening (19/8/2026).
Acting Secretary of the West Java DPRD, Iman Tohidin, said that a number of technical preparations were still being finalised before the event begins at 19.00 WIB. “As of today, the progress of preparations for the plenary session for the 81st anniversary of West Java Province is around 99 per cent. Only a few technical matters remain to be confirmed before this evening’s implementation,” said Iman on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
According to him, the West Java DPRD Secretariat continues to coordinate with various parties to ensure the entire series of commemorations runs according to plan. Preparations concern not only the main event but also technical requirements on the ground.
The series of activities will begin with transit preparations, followed by West Javanese arts and cultural performances. After that, the event enters the main agenda of the plenary session.
A number of agenda items have been prepared, starting with the recitation of verses from the Quran, the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, the opening of the plenary session by the Speaker of the West Java DPRD, the reading of the history of West Java Province by a cultural figure, and a speech by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi.
The series of events continues with a prayer and the closing of the plenary session.
West Javanese cultural nuances will also be an important part of the 81st anniversary commemoration. A number of art forms to be performed include Ngarak Barong Bekasi, Jaipongan dance, Cirebon mask dance, and the Cening Paras Ayu Ni Hyang dance.
Iman said that strengthening the artistic and cultural elements is in line with the visual identity of the West Java Anniversary, which represents the identity, cultural diversity, natural wealth, and spirit of the people of West Java to continue developing.
The theme of the 81st anniversary of West Java Province this year is “Jabar Tandang.” With preparations having reached approximately 99 per cent, the West Java DPRD Secretariat ensures that a number of technical requirements will continue to be finalised until just before the event.
The commemoration of the 81st anniversary of West Java Province is expected not merely to be a ceremony, but also a momentum to strengthen the public’s love for culture while affirming the identity of West Java.
