West Java DPRD and Provincial Government Agree on 2027 Budget Policy Direction
The West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) together with Governor Dedi Mulyadi have agreed on the Draft General Budget Policy (KUA) and the Draft Temporary Budget Priorities and Ceiling (PPAS) for the West Java Provincial Budget for the 2027 Fiscal Year. The agreement was reached during a plenary session of the West Java DPRD in Bandung City on Wednesday (5/8/2026).
West Java DPRD Chairman Buky Wibawa stated that the approval of the KUA-PPAS is a crucial stage in the process of drafting the 2027 Fiscal Year Budget. This document serves as the basis for the discussion of the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) concerning the 2027 Budget. According to Buky, the formulation of the KUA-PPAS is an inseparable part of the regional budget policy drafting process, which must be discussed jointly between the West Java Provincial Government and the DPRD before the preparation of the draft budget.
“Alhamdulillah, we now have a foundation for discussing the Draft Regional Regulation on the 2027 Fiscal Year Budget. We hope the Governor can follow up in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations,” Buky said during the plenary session. He appreciated the synergy established between the DPRD and the West Java Provincial Government during the KUA-PPAS discussion process. According to him, this cooperation is a crucial asset for producing well-targeted budget policies.
Buky emphasised that the DPRD is committed to carrying out its budgeting function professionally, transparently, and accountably. The subsequent discussion will focus on the formulation of the 2027 Budget Draft Regional Regulation by prioritising the principles of efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with public interests. He expressed hope that the synergy between the legislative and executive branches would produce a high-quality budget, strengthen public services, accelerate regional development, and boost the welfare of the people of West Java.
Previously, Governor Dedi Mulyadi had submitted the Draft KUA-PPAS for the 2027 Fiscal Year to the West Java DPRD through the Budget Committee on 10 July 2026. The DPRD subsequently conducted a comprehensive review of the document through its commissions and the Budget Committee to ensure the budget policy direction aligns with regional development needs and public aspirations.
