Bandung (ANTARA) - The cumulative movement of domestic tourists in West Java from January to July 2<0xE2><0x80><0xAF>026 has surpassed 130.98 million trips, with the Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi (Bodebek) areas and Bandung Raya emerging as the dominant regions.

“The Bodebek and Bandung Raya areas dominated, absorbing 52.32 per cent of total visits during this period,” said the Head of BPS West Java, Margaretha Ari Anggorowati, in Bandung on Tuesday.

She noted that this cumulative achievement in the tourism sector recorded positive growth of 4.90 per cent compared to the same period in 2025.

Ari revealed that in July 2026 alone, the volume of domestic tourist trips in the West Java region reached 18.86 million trips.

This tourism momentum has had a direct impact on the Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in West Java, which rose by 0.56 points monthly to 51.61 per cent in July 2026.

Meanwhile, at international entry points, arrivals of foreign tourists directly through Kertajati International Airport (BIJB) West Java were recorded at 232 visits in July 2026.

“This record was dominated by travellers from Singapore,” said Ari.

On the other hand, Ari added that the Whoosh High-Speed Railway, via the Halim corridor to Tegalluar, Padalarang, and Karawang, recorded a significant influx of foreign nationals.

“With this mode of transport, a total of 17,945 visits were recorded throughout July 2026,” she stated.
