West Java Deputy Governor Urges Bobotoh to Maintain Civility Ahead of Persib vs Persijap
West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan has urged all residents and Persib supporters to keep civility as the 2025/2026 Super League title race comes to a head with Persib Bandung facing Persijap Jepara. The final league game will be at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Saturday, 23 May 2026.
Erwan said attendance at GBLA is welcome, but supporters must behave responsibly to protect the club and the region’s reputation. ‘Bobotoh are invited to come to GBLA to support Persib, but I remind you to guard your conduct and the club’s name to avoid actions that could harm yourself or the club,’ he told reporters in Bandung on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
He specifically highlighted the use of fireworks or flares and the tendency for fans to run onto the pitch during crucial moments. He warned these actions are dangerous and could carry heavy sanctions for Persib Bandung.
He also cautioned supporters without official tickets not to attempt to enter the stadium area. ‘If you celebrate a victory, do so with respect. Let us celebrate Persib’s victory with gratitude and sporting spirit,’ he added.
The West Java provincial government has held a cross-sector coordination meeting involving PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Health Department to devise a safe and smooth welcome for the champions.
Adhitia Putra Herawan, Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, said management has prepared a victory convoy route if Persib clinches the title on Sunday, 24 May 2026. The convoy is planned to travel through several historic areas of Bandung.
With coordinated planning among government, security forces, and club management, the celebration of the 2025/2026 Super League title is expected to proceed smoothly without incidents.
Bandung City Government has prepared Asia Africa pedestrian overpass (JPO Asia Afrika) for the Persib title celebration, with access limited to players and officials for security and cultural heritage reasons.
Viking chief Tobias Ginanjar urged Bobotoh to be orderly in the decisive Persib–Persijap match, prohibiting pitch invasion and flare lighting for the sacred ceremony.
Garut Police and Tasikmalaya Kota Police conducted raids on knalpot brong exhausts ahead of Persib–Persijap to safeguard public order and comfort.
Persijap currently sits 13th in the standings with 35 points. Discipline and team organisation have been the main strengths of their season.
Persib currently requires only one point to secure the title this season, potentially their third consecutive title.
