West Java Deputy Governor Encourages MSME Involvement in Every Regional Agenda

West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan has urged that micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) be continuously involved in various activities across the region, rather than only during ceremonial events. He made the remarks after closing the Nusantara People’s Festival 2026 at the Siliwangi Regional Military Command field in Bandung on Sunday. “I express my gratitude to the Siliwangi Regional Military Command and the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for collaborating on the Nusantara People’s Festival, which involved 42 MSMEs in West Java,” Erwan said. He expressed hope that similar synergy would continue in various activities throughout West Java. The Nusantara People’s Festival 2026 ran for ten days, from 10 to 19 July 2026, aiming to boost the growth of local businesses while providing a communal space for the public through a mix of entertainment, sports, culinary experiences, and the creative economy. Meanwhile, Siliwangi Regional Military Commander Major General TNI Kosasih expressed hope that the festival would grow in the coming years by involving even more MSMEs. “Hopefully in the future it can become bigger and the number of participating MSMEs will also increase,” he said. He also congratulated the winners of the painting competition and the U-12 football tournament held as part of the event, expressing hope that the activities would improve the children’s achievements and potentially produce future national footballers. The Commander then officially closed the festival, which over ten days offered a range of activities from MSME bazaars and entertainment to sports and educational programmes, serving as a platform to strengthen community togetherness while driving local economic growth.
