West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan has expressed appreciation for the collaboration between Kodam III/Siliwangi, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), and TVRI West Java in organising the 2026 Nusantara People’s Festival. The Festival Rakyat Nusantara 2026 took place over 10 days, from 10 to 19 July 2026. The event aimed to encourage the growth of local businesses while providing a communal space for the public through a blend of entertainment, sports, culinary offerings, and the creative economy. Erwan stressed that the involvement of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) must continue to be part of various activities in West Java, not just ceremonial events. “I would like to thank Kodam III/Siliwangi and Kadin West Java for collaborating to organise the Nusantara People’s Festival, which involved 42 UMKM in West Java,” Erwan said in a statement on Thursday (23/7/2026). He made the remarks after attending the closing of the 2026 Nusantara People’s Festival at Serka Dedy Unadi Field, Kodam III/Siliwangi, Bandung City, on Sunday (19/7/2026). He expressed hope that similar synergy could be continued in various activities across West Java. Meanwhile, Pangdam III/Siliwangi Major General TNI Kosasih expressed hope that the Nusantara People’s Festival would continue to grow by involving more UMKM players in the coming years. “In the future, hopefully it can grow bigger and the number of participating UMKM will also increase,” he said. He also appreciated Kadin West Java, the committee, and all sponsors who supported the festival. The Pangdam congratulated the winners of the painting competition and the U-12 football tournament, which were part of the event series. “Hopefully this activity can improve the achievements of our younger siblings, both in drawing and football, so that in the future it can produce national footballers,” Kosasih said. With the conclusion of the 2026 Nusantara People’s Festival, the Pangdam III/Siliwangi officially closed the event, which over ten days presented various activities for the community, ranging from an UMKM bazaar, entertainment, and sports, to educational activities as a platform to strengthen togetherness while encouraging local economic growth.
