West Java Crafts in High Demand, PKJB 2026 Records IDR 54 Billion in Transactions

West Java craft products are increasingly sought after, with the 2026 West Java Craft Week (PKJB) recording total transactions of IDR 54 billion. This figure represents a significant increase of 170 percent compared to the previous year’s event, collected from the first day of PKJB held from Friday to Sunday, 26-28 June 2026. The number of visitors also rose to 97,000 people, up from 95,000 in 2025. The event also served as a momentum for artisans to secure financing from banks, with total banking financing disbursed reaching IDR 1.8 billion. Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for West Java, Junanto Herdiawan, noted that several artisans also secured export cooperation deals worth IDR 4.7 billion. Responding to the success, West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan expressed gratitude to the event’s supporters and the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) involved. He urged artisans to continue using cultural heritage as a source of inspiration in creating their works, a strategy he believes will enable West Java artisans to compete on both national and international stages.
